I Hear All of This as Music (2018)

In November, 2018, I visited Los Angeles as poet-in-residence for the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s Fluxconcert, the keystone event in its year-long Fluxus Festival.

Through two days of rehearsals and the evening’s performances, I gathered notes for a poem that engaged with works by John Cage, La Monte Young, Yoko Ono, Luciano Berio, Nam June Paik, Allison Knowles, Simone Forti, Christian Wolff, Dick Higgins, and others.
